I liked how exploitation was portrayed in this film because it includes all species and sizes - humans, reptiles, birds, etc. I also liked the superficiality of the characters, because it shows how the film industry was built on a fantasy. Every film is an illusion, and the characters in Babylon have agreed to pay the price of becoming a superficial illusion themselves in order to keep the film industry -the fantasy- alive.

Mute Fire 2019
Pirotecnia is a great film for learning about Colombian history and the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia). I did not know much about this country before watching it, and felt like the information was clear and told through a unique perspective.
It felt slow at times, while the connection between the two main themes (the director's attempt to understand his mother's silence, and the political use of images/film throughout Colombia's history) is not completely achieved. Still, some intriguing bridges…
