Feels like it was cut down to the barest minimum to be honest lots of inferences needed. I loved this. Seems to be thematically staunchly against technology and instead argues for body connection and community as a salve to capitalist idealist evilness? I thought, perhaps interestingly astute as it was filmed before Elon and trump maximised their joint slay but what do I know. I think the plot is some how not fleshed out enough but two characters could have been fully cut but I like it so much idc

A Real Pain 2024
Unbelievable. Beautifully directed and beautifully written, crests dangerously close to successfully acknowledging the absurd subconscious of agony and desire that animate our consciousness. Reminds me of that Kae tempest quote ‘you see the tragedy and pain in a person you have never met is present in your nightmares and in your pull towards despair’. This film gets close to the nature of pain through generational trauma, wide scoped tragedy and also just the absurd agony of being alive. I can’t believe how smart this movie is
