Worthless excuse of a “blockbuster”; completely lacking anything of value or redeeming quality. Basically does to Men In Black what the sequel trilogy did to Star Wars. It even has an annoying Mary-Sue.

Forbidden World 1982
This is the Alien prequel we all wanted to see. Fantastic practical effects considering the extremely low budget. Very fun way to spend 80 minutes on a weekend.

Black Bag 2025
Utterly disappointed. This reminds me so much of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy… which I also wasn’t a fan of. I expected more given the great cast. There’s very little chemistry between the leads, the story is nebulous and poorly explained, and by the third act the vague national threat seems completely inconsequential. Flop.

Paper Moon 1973
Ryan O'Neil and Tatum O'Neal (real life father-daughter) have wonderful chemistry in this story, they are both electric onscreen, they have a beautiful bond, with the latter delivering the most convincing child acting performance, perhaps ever. Both characters are extremely likeable even though they are committing crime left, right and centre. A beautiful road movie, with brilliant direction, it's impeccably written, and hence so engaging. Peter Bogdanovich's Paper Moon is perfect, timeless, and easily one of the finest films from the 1970s.
