The Holdovers 2023
Wholeheartedly, one of the most cozy, touching, and pleasant films I have ever watched. The 70s style film grain, font, and colors- to the old fashioned Americana interior design and architecture of the school - induces an immense dose of nostalgia. It brings us back to a formative time, that every person experienced as a teenager, where insecurities and uncertainties caused by factors out of our control seemed relentless.

Saltburn 2023
The first act was enticing, with dozens of possibilities for the plot to take that captured my imagination. However, as the film kept going, it started to feel and less of a story of a person simply finding their place in alienating environment, but more of the virtuosity of a lying sociopath. The film missed me completely. Beautiful cinematography but it simply wasn't anything we haven't seen before and I didn't see the point of producing this film.

Bridesmaids 2011
Hilarious! I didn't have much of any expectations going into this but I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the overall message of the film: don't blame the world for all of your problems. Definitely some of it is, but is nice to be remembered there is still a lot of agency left to us.
