  Captain America: Brave New World 2025

  I mean… if we’re just happy with our MCU movies being perfectly mild and inoffensive vehicles for a quick box office buck then this was fine? No twists, no risks, but there’s a contrived two-minute dialogue between Sam and Bucky that was likely written by an llm. I don’t know. I’m just a casual MCU viewer that can’t retain encyclopedic knowledge of everyone’s lives and backstories and I feel like these movies aren’t for me anymore?

  Respect to Harrison Ford…

  Lukas Gage being a himbo in imax ♡

  Although predictable, this movie was more enjoyable than I expected. Sophie Thatcher is a star and Jack Quaid understood the assignment completely. The third act is a bit of a slog but it’s a fun journey.

  This movie bravely asks what if you remade Before Sunrise but it’s in Hong Kong and the main characters are an Asian-American woman who hates being in China and a white American man who explains China to her at every opportunity. Also they’re both emotionally cheating on their partners, for no reason too since they’re entirely uninteresting people and neither one has had an original thought in their lives. It was pretty though.*

  *Except the female lead’s outfit, supposedly she studied fashion design but she’s wearing the most atrocious polyester chiffon 2013 clothes the entire time

  That Christmas 2024

  A cute movie about a charming little town with  bumbling grownups and kids who have more emotional complexity than me. Ed Sheeran and Kelly Clarkson on the soundtrack kind of take the whimsy out of it. But you bet I cried at the end!
