What a majestic, haunting, sneakily amusing, devastating, overwhelming film. It somehow manages to be propulsive in its narrative momentum while also allowing for instances of contemplation and maintaining a hypnotic patience with how each scene unfolds.

This lil' film right here, the one that's been endlessly quoted, analyzed, and referenced ever since it came out, the one that changed superhero films and cinema in general...is responsible for me loving films and wanting to become a writer/director.
