  Keeping in mind this was meant to be family friendly I think the film does what they wanted, but falls short for the older audiences. It could have been longer to build out the storyline more, it felt a little rushed.

  The message was a bit 2010s and I don’t think any new revelations were made about men and women’s roles in society. Nothing really important was said. I think Mattel’s influence on the film made it less punchy.
