An interesting little document of a little event. Baldwin's opening speech is incredible but he tries too hard to give profound , flowery answer to basic crowd Q and A questions. Dick Gregory (gorgeous) comes through and articulates more coherent, clearly delivered and funny answers later on.

This felt like two hours of superbowl  commericials. 

It starts as a truly unfun slog. Every beat is spoonfed to the audience and the jokes feel completely flat. Gerwig wants to poke fun at empowerment culture but it's toothless and the waffling on earnestness continues throughout. I would rather ritually disembowel myself than watch a single additional second of this deeply disturbing movie. Some gorgeous photography but it’s used to turn Jane Austen’s satire of English courting culture into a romanticization of that culture’s extremely fucked up sexual dynamics. Great to show to a 20 year old evangelical woman to convince her that getting married to a rich guy is the ultimate dream despite the fact that her boyfriend is often pretty mean to her.
