i get the point of using the overly formal dialogue and discordant music to create a sense of unease in the viewer, but that doesn’t mean i have to like it. this movie felt… underwhelming.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012
i wanted to see this movie SO badly when it came out and i wish i did because i think i would’ve appreciated more as a teenager. at least now i’ve actually heard a lot of those old tumblr quotes from the source! plus that ending sequence… my god.
i unfortunately kept noticing how logan lerman’s mouth movements that were supposed to make him look anxious and awkward actually made him look like he was trying to hide that he was chewing on a hamster and that did kind of detract from my viewing experience :(
