Damn Son. Cate Blanchett can act. This film is all about her performance and is enhanced by the stoic nature of this film. You know when you watch a film and it's trying to be controversial but not "too" controversial? This film does not do that, it feels like it's not trying to hide. In probably the most sensitive era of filmmaking we've had in a while this film is a refreshing middle finger of how a master of her craft will not let anyone stand in her way to get what she wants.
