I'm convinced that WWY is quite an underrated film. People are dismissing it because it's not as grandiose as Your Name (2016). Though to me, it's got something which even YN couldn't accomplish. It doesn’t just exploit relevant issues like climate change but also presents a beefy moral argument: is it fair for only one person to pay the price for society as a whole?

I swear if they didn't end this film the way it ended, it would have become my least favourite film.
Kenji's decision to not touch the love of his life was an enormous thing, indeed. He sacrificed those desires of touching his partner, so that he can make her stay besides him forever. That's what makes this film so unique and heartbreaking.
This film made me go from "hahaha... meh... okayyy... hmmm.." to "omg!!! No ... 😭😭😭"
