can someone tell Pasolini it’s okay to film other things than static, emotionless faces, PLEASE. also, i get that this was filmed on location with non-professional actors (shoutout Giorgio Agamben), but for the love of God how hard can it be to sync your image and your sound man
this is supposed to be a very straightforward, literal depiction of Matthew’s gospel, which i guess in a sense it is, but for me Pasolini fails to capture both the humanity and the divinity of Christ. this is one of those cases where the book is better than the film…
