I got a film degree and I'm really mad about it.

Beatriz at Dinner 2017
Probably one of the worst endings I've ever seen in my life.

Anna Karenina 2012
Joe Wright's sweeping sets and costumes construct a rich and complex version of 1800s Russian society. When it comes to art, the film leaves little to be desired; the luxurious lives of the Russian elite are evoked beautifully through ambitious photography and staging. However, supporting performances from Jude Law, Domnhall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, Kelly Macdonald and Matthew Macfadden are what truly liven up the lackluster romance between Anna (Keira Knightley) and Count Vronsky (Aaron Taylor-Johnson.) The film evokes many of the philosophical questions of Tolstoy's original work, but lacks the heart or the gravity to be found in the book of the same name.
