Michael Mann shouldn’t be allowed to use Audioslave tracks in his movie on account of it being way too fucking cool.
This may be my favorite Thomas performance, absolutely kills.
Wish Ray Fanning had a comeback at the end, thought for sure thomas just got him in the bulletproof vest.
Never good when the opening sequence is the best scene of the film. dont be fooled by the talented cast, this movie is absolute drivel. the script is so lazy, there is zero character development, and there isn’t even any cool spec ops shit. you know you’ve really given up when you round out what’s supposed to be some heartfelt exchange between your two leads with them both saying “it is what it is”.
Marky Mark lays pipe in the first two minutes and it gives you hope. unfortunately the rest of the movie is so discombobulating with sorkin like pacing and montages of close up cut shots of random explosions and pieces of machinery malfunctioning but the audience has little clue as to how or why. also the stakes are never really defined aka if you didn’t watch the end credits you would have no idea this resulted in one of the worst environmental disasters in recorded history.
