I’m pretty sure that filming wrapped and Rob Howard realised the movie was only 40 minutes long, so they got Jim Carey to get weird for six weeks and randomly added scenes to the first half of the movie.
A shame, considering the elaborate physical sets and practical make-up effects!
How many people said “yes” to every step of the making of this film? Nothing makes any sense until it is all explained away by the “twist”, Perkins has apparently never heard human beings speak to one another, the dialogue painfully stilted and awkward while the actors struggle to wade through the thick bog of cliched references and tired retro aesthetics.
You’d do better to give Silence of the Lambs a rewatch after taking six or seven bong-hits.
