  Ahhh the 90s, elliot smith, gus van sant, boys being all tough and rought but really it’s not their fault, it’s life being life. I also want Robin Williams to be my shrink. I also want to have someone talk about me like RW talks about his wife, I also want to be sure I didn’t take the ego career path but the route that makes my heart sing. 
  I love this movie, it’s gives me all the feels and it’s so comforting.It’s refreshing to watch a romantic drama through the pov of a man. Boys have feelings too

  Is it trying to paint late roman empire messiness? Is it trying to paint our ‘republic’ of today? Is it just empty spectacle? Is it not that deep?

  I found it extremely conservative with sloppy and flat characters for most of the time.

  I still enjoyed denzel’s performance and would have been more interested in knowing his story - and ofc the silly naval battle in the colisseum.

Following
