It might be because I was in 4dx, but I genuinely got jumpscared a few times. It's very simple and straightforward, and sure it's just 1 thing that's stretched out for 90 minutes, but I feel they really do alot with little and it was delivered very well.

Once you get past the pretty rough first 20-30 minutes and you start getting into Shadow's backstory + Jim Carrey, the movie gets so much better and pulls you in as it progresses.
I will say though, Jim Carrey does 80% of the pulling. The other 20% are some very cool SONIC moments in the 3rd act. But yes, Jim Carrey is awesome.
Overall: a very fun popcorn flick. Recommend seeing with family.
