Napoleon Dynamite 2004
Capsule movie, filled with the type of nostalgia and humor that overzealous Hollywood could never capture. Jared Hess is a special guy and though this was a rewatch, so many of the scenes are core memories for me. From the opening titles to the final scene, I love this one, again and again.

The Iron Claw 2023
It’s special when a movie both moves you and thrills you. I could feel so much of the emotion without it being spelled out. I think that’s why it was even more gut wrenching, it was real. Or based very closely on the true story.
When emotion finally is released after a lifetime of holding back. You know the scene, it was so cathartic for everyone to witness.
