The Killing of a Sacred Deer 2017
Bit disappointing. It does well to create tension, the sound design is awesome and the weird funny moments are fucked. But the deadpan style of acting that I think is a trademark of Yorgos makes it hard to empathise with a situation that feels like should be empathised with. I think the two aspects didn’t mix well which is a shame since the story and method are great, just didn’t work for me as a thriller, mystery or drama ultimately. Worth a watch though

This film was just perfect. It felt as if you were there in each scene and that you weren’t just a bystander. The film effectively creates relationships between each character and you are shown their depth throughout. The camera work is amazing (The mirror scene is enough reason to watch this film) and includes many great long shots, some leaving you questioning how it was done. Furthermore, the story allows us to see the distinct class divide as we travel…
