  If Beale Street Could Talk 2018

  An unreal performance by Kiki Layne and Stephan James. When watching this, I really felt the energy on screen and believed the two were deeply in love. Currently in the midst of a horrific situation battling discrimination, racism and judgement from not only the outside world, but those that are supposed to be considered family. 

  Easy A was definitely no outstanding recommendation, but Homegirl definitely cooked with this one.
  (We are still watching La Haine next time).

  I think I’m becoming a safdie bum boy in the space of like 13 hours, these bruddas just keep cooking. 

  The dialogue in these films is perfect. It reminds me a lot of Atlanta, characters mutter and mumble during awkward instances. They cut eachother off inbetween conversations and each line doesn’t feel like regurgitated information that’s been delivered over and over again in the hunt for the “perfect take”

  9 minutes and 9 seconds into this film I was screaming “HE’S RIGHT! HE’S SO RIGHT!! BROS JUST LIKE ME FR!” 

  By the end I realised dawg is on some other shit, you lot can keep your happy connections. I’d do and sacrifice absolutely anything to have Scarlett call me baby night after night.

  Side note: homie wrote n directed a film he was playing the main part for. And then decided to cast Scarlett Johannson as his love interest who he dry humps to the point of ejaculation!?
