Got to see this absolute gem at The VHS Society and met Joe Lynch and his incredible wife and writing partner, Becca. Shoutout to both of them for being the best conversationalists and absolute ride-or-dies for indie horror filmmaking.

Cinematography and aesthetic is so gritty and gorgeous, the performances by Heather Graham and Judah Lewis are magnetizing, sound design is out of this world, Steve Moore’s score is phenomenal (SEXY SAX!) and covered the film wall-to-wall in the best way,…

A really fun, ballsy spider horror film and a great film in general. Really appreciative of naming the spider after Frodo’s sword from Lord of the Rings, plus all of the Alien and Predator references. Not to mention, the film is going to age really well with its use of practical effects. I’ll be watching this again and again in the future.

It’s good but a predictable feel-good film. But why the hell is everyone so confused about whether it’s 1963 or the 1980s? Pick a time and stick to it.

Just seemed like a really cheap, blockbuster hack of the first film. The characters felt really hollow, and there were SO. MANY. POP. PLACEMENTS. Either the director or the music supervisor (or both) need to get a grip and realize an actual score from an actual composer throughout the film would make the film that much more bearable. SFX were really good, but it felt way more blockbuster-y than the original, when the original felt like we were following actual storm-chasers around actual tornados.
