i usually don't like biopics, because they – almost all of the time – tend to be quite insensitive, but i feel like this film was made with empathy. i was very fond of angelina jolie's performance and the warmth she brought to this character.
the visuals were absolutely stunning. the costumes, architecture and the way the scenes were shot; it was all magnificent. every shot could easily be a painting.

and i was surprised to see how much of the film seemed familiar due to having often been used as a reference in modern media. its impact on art only proves that this film is deserving of its status as an iconic work in film history.
