  I didn’t care for Meek’s Cutoff, so I wasn’t expecting to be blown away by this movie but I was. It’s very understated, but I was enchanted from the start. A meditation.

  A fever dream of a movie. What is Tampopo about? A trucker helps a widow revitalize her ramen shop. Sounds dull, right? But it is instead one of the most singular “this is cinema” experiences I’ve had. It is a western, food porn, incredibly sensual, educational, slapstick. It fits so many elements together but never feels disjointed. I absolutely adored it.

  When the best acting in your movie is provided by Cedric the Entertainer.......and Cedric the Entertainer isn't one of your leads..........or even secondary leads.

  Well, the acting in this film leaves a bunch to be desired.

  The script is pretty bad too....there is a character called "Horny" the Unicorn. Yeah, pretty sure I outgrew this film when I was 15. My son loved it though.

  I don't regret watching it, it was cute enough. But I can't recommend it for anything other than a late night streaming frivolity, and I won't watch it again.
