I'm always gonna prefer the campy, Shakespeare-troop-in-space vibe and practical effects of David Lynch's Dune over something as self-serious, monotone and CGI-dependent as this — especially for source material as filled with hallucinogenics, gay cannibal fascists, and stilted dialogue as Frank Herbert's Dune. So I wasn't in any real rush to see this. But aside from some difficult line reads (and truly the source material just be like that) the gang did a good job making this into a Serious Movie and I'm happy for everyone.
