Tbh I only knew about the 3D remake in 2009 that I saw in theatres (which was awesome from what I remember and had the coolest special effect I've probably ever seen).
This goes hard as f*ck (definitely NOT coal). The kills are brutal and creative. The characters feel authentic. The mineshaft setting with miner's uniform and pickaxe is kino. Easily in the running for best slasher of all time.
