The Substance 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I am of two minds about this film.
On one hand the cinematography and sound design are phenomenal and the best I’ve seen in recent years. This film also inspires conversation, and critical thinking (sort of), which I think is a marker of a great film.
However, the last 20 minutes of this film completely fucking lost me. It’s purely just the film saying ‘guys look at how gross she is, she’s getting more and more gross’ with no attempt…
