This film is the best depiction of abuse I have ever seen on screen and a true horror masterpiece. At the time of its release, critics and audiences alike were unprepared to appreciate its genius or deal with the full spectrum of emotions it evokes. In the TV series, Laura Palmer is a mysterious and haunting presence. It's a good thing David Lynch directed "Fire Walk With Me" because in it we can see the complex human being behind the murdered girl. Sheryl Lee is absolutely brilliant and Ray Wise is terrifying - as it should be.

Jacob's Ladder 1990
This obscure film had a far greater influence than is generally recognized, inspiring everything from the Silent Hill game franchise to iconic films like "The Sixth Sense". Dogfight 1991
This film is so underrated! It is both as a love story and a commentary on militarism and masculinity. Lili Taylor is great as this shy, sensitive and bright young woman and manages to give dignity to her character even in the face of humiliation. Phoenix's portrayal of an angry young man, aggressive but also vulnerable, is convincing and very moving. Set in the early stages of the Vietnam War, the film discusses pacifism, anti-war sentiment, hegemonic masculinity, love and loss. A real gem.
