  If there's two things Catholics have going for them it's aesthetics and Drama. Easily the wokest Vatican City has ever been. Ralph Fiennes was ROBBED of his Oscar.

  I really love the themes and aesthetic of this one. In some ways the surface story didn't quite capture me as much as I wanted it to, but I still really liked it.

  It's clearly about the closeted trans experience, but in a broader way it broaches the idea of living inauthentically to keep from causing "trouble". MC wastes their life dissociating and neglecting the deepest callings and longings of their soul to avoid being off-putting or bizarre to other people, effectively turning that one precious lifetime into a deeply disturbing, regretful, and dissatisfying experience for themselves.
