Such a charming and hilarious take on a coming of age story, hallucinogenic time travel and all. What would I tell my younger self if I had the chance, what would she remind me of in return? I laughed, and then I cried.. for like 20 minutes after the movie ended.

The age old story of unlikely companions and the softening of curmudgeon works so well in The Holdovers - both classic yet original in its own right. The cinematography and the soundtrack are both fantastic. The movie left me satisfied, feeling a heartwarming sense of nostalgia throughout, delivered with an endearing authenticity. A new Christmas classic for me.
