Three for Happiness 1985
The total positive impression of Yugoslavian cinema just keeps expanding for me. This film is so beautifully simple, so real and raw.
Grlić's apperence at the projection yesterday at MSU, just made it so ''here and now'' because the depiction of Balkan poverty, unreal love debauchery feel so infinitely universial.
Fantastično!

Gone with the Wind 1939
Definitely worth those four hours, it was more than my expectations. Truly deserves it's place among the best.

The Nun's Story 1959
for the late 50s, and especially something that came out of that late golden hollywood era, this film is ahead of its contemporaries. at least in america, where the motion picture industry manufactures mostly well-known loved stars in easily digestible ''hour and a half'' merrymakers.
a pleasant surprise to watch hepburn in a fantastically strategic performance that just exhibits her great talent and humble natural elegance.
