Monumental visuals and soundtrack. Barreling forward shots were my favorite motif. VistaVision and Carrera are goated. Good performances.
I was gonna list out the things I didn’t like but I’ll just sum it up as: the movie fell a little flat for me. Corbet seems to be primarily concerned with the plight of artists and hates capitalism, and I can relate to neither. I’m glad it’s doing well, hopefully it translates to an easier road for artists and for ambitious movies. But ultimately comes off as the work of many auteurs do: bounded by its own narcissism.
