Didn't expect Kieran to outplay Jesse like that: a spectacularly written character that.
Loved how the movie was plotless, which made me follow their story very attentively.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Apart from Daniel's acting, the movie haven't done much to me.
However, I did like the portrayal from early age capitalism, especially how he literally bought an entire city and how we saw a slow development of that city: from a single ranch to infrastructure, to houses and a train station.
Also, I'm convinced the last scene was a dream: Eli's character is just way too cartoonish for someone who was trying to run for his life. It was an act of revenge, one Daniel could only dream of, hence, the dream.
I could pause the movie at any given moment, and the shot would be a perfect wallpaper.
With that being said, the cinematography was sublime, so was the camera work. I can't help but admire the atmosphere, the neon lights, grainy night shots, and the overall melancholic tone of the movie.
Nevertheless, the movie was partly boring. It was a visual insanity, but not as a movie. Could've just been a video montage of 1995 Hong Kong characters, which it probably was.
My girlfriend says the atmosphere was both very warm and depressive at the same time. Begs the question tho: what did they do with the wrong cat?
