Le Cercle Rouge 1970
My first time watching Alain Delon. Perfectly paced film and exciting direction by Melville. The heist scene was 20 minutes long and totally silent, and the whole time it kept me wide eyed and on the edge of my seat. Fantastic.

Murdering the Devil 1970
For a film that felt so intimidatingly intimate at times, the set-pieces and emotions were mesmerizingly and flinchingly alien. Seeing what was taken in Prague, 1970, to be the height of opulent and hedonistic cuisine so as to be lusted after in such a way… i really felt a little nauseous imagining what ravenous hunger for a jello mold with meat in it would feel like.

The Great Dictator 1940
some of my absolutely favorite Chaplin scenes ever in this flick, including what might be among best speeches ever in movies.

Inherent Vice 2014
It’s good, but not as good as the book, and it’s worth it to read the book before you watch.
