A tragic but ultimately uplifting story about breaking the choke hold of family trauma.

    Scarface

    ★★★

Scarface is an iconic 80's film that lives up to the expectations of it being an iconic 80's film. Sitting somewhere between the subtlety of The Godfather and the brutal absurdity of a Tarantino Film, Scarface is highlighted by a convincing performance (and accent) by Al Pacino, a predictable story arc, a wonderfully cheesy montage with "Push it to the Limit" in the background, and most importantly, a short shootout which may actually surprise you at its cinematic beauty. I am neither impressed nor disappointed, simply satisfied.

I walked into the theatre to watch a documentary on a man who not only influenced my childhood, but also was a man who I have seen as a model and hero in the lives of children. I expected to see a documentary that showed me Mr. Fred Rogers, instead this documentary made me feel once again the message that Mr. Rogers always wanted to give to the world: “To love your neighbor and to love yourself”.
