Doesn’t compared to Godzilla imo. Been told it’s better but I can’t agree. Designs of the monsters were good and fit the aesthetic of the film. The human plot was better than most recent Godzilla movies though so you got me there.

I enjoy that they took the franchise a different direction bus’s it wouldn’t have worked if they tried the same formula again. I don’t think the whole cloning but was done as well as it could have been but sure it was a good plot twist. The setting is a bit goofy. This movie feels like the characters didn’t really belong where they were at points. Shoehorned I’m at points. Fun and the finale imagery of a dead Dino on a skull was cool.

Part two is leagues better than part one. The setup of part one pays off in this film. The themes of this film are so entertaining to unravel and interpret as the film progresses. The realization of seeing the main character change into what he’s been avoiding is great. The characterization of all the supporting cast is done well too. The mother fulfilling her position and pushing her son into this position of a messiah for personal gain is done…

I was unaware of the complexity of this film and wasn’t given a good chance to watch it in a setting that it deserved. I watched it with others who don’t appreciate symbolism like this in films and was distracted when watching. I’ll give this movie another chance at some point, but as it stands right now, it’s alright. I thought that the open ended was of the films end was good and liked the relation dynamics (aside from the main female lead and the doctors relationship). Fun if you’re in the mood for a romantic (tragedy?) thinker
