This felt like 6 different films in one, in a very satisfying way - both stylistically and also the many twists and turns the story took. I had no idea where we were headed but I was desperate to find out. Production design was beautiful yet terrifying, especially the horrific special effects in the “clown mirror” room. Serendipitously saw this on October 11, 2024 — the movie takes place on October 11, 1975. 49 years to the day! I felt the pressure between Lorne and the network exec to be the most relevant and powerful message of the film — take a chance on new art and talent! It pays off! Performances and were practically perfect — especially Chevy Chase and a spot on Billy Crystal impersonation.

The 30 second shot of Gaga getting out of the car in Harley drag and entering the courthouse was quite literally the only enjoyable moment of this lazy and lifeless ChatGPT bullshit. Between Joaquin’s relentless whisper “singing” and utterly odious blaccent in the courtroom, he has soiled any shred of respect I had for his Oscar-winning creation from the first film. Gaga is disgustingly underutilized, we did not need another movie about Arthur Fleck. If the movie was from Gaga’s POV — an outsider who was corrupted by this crazy man’s crimes — it might’ve been mildly entertaining compared to this absolute irredeemable hack job.
