Beautiful cinematography, great acting from Baranovskaya as the titular, and it serves as a very interesting illustration of early Soviet cinema, culure, and ideology.

While Jodorowsky's apparent obsessions with psychedelic visuals, religious and occult symbolism, sex, animals, and amputees may not be everyone's cup of tea, I highly recommend this film to any cinephile out there.
