Cool historical document. At first pretty charming, towards the end quite harrowing. Some pretty stunning shots for the time as well!

The Brutalist 2024
I haven’t seen an American epic like this about capitalism and the American nightmare since There Will Be Blood.
Beautiful cinematography (that marble quarry!), powerful architecture and absolutely loved the music score. Can’t wait to delve into Corbet’s earlier films!

Closely Watched Trains 1966
Charming movie, with a lot of love for French New Wave Cinema. I don’t know if it deserves the status it has, because it feels a bit clunky at times. The metaphor of his sexual problems is not very subtle either.
But worth a watch nonetheless and a handful of really memorable scenes (the intro, the stamping scene). Cool last shot as well!
