The classic story of a man at the end of his rope, pushed and forced to engage with what he runs from the most. He cannot close his eyes and shut the spiritual out instead forcing it to bend around him but his armor of hubris can only last so long.

Babylon, like the hanging gardens of the ancient city this felt like a mirage. Dizzying (almost too dizzying) cinematography brings together a combination of old Hollywood history, modern charm, joyful acting with poignant moments that have left a solid impression. Albeit not perfect this movie has made me address how I watch all cinema going forward and for that alone it should be lauded.
