I love this premise so much. Some of the effects are bit too goofy, but there are some genuine good jumpscares. It feels like a realtime takeover with literally no way out. When that horse girl ripped the car door off the car Terry was hiding in, you realize just how much they’ve been fucking with their own prey. Sadistic.

I didn’t know what to think of the movie in the first half. It wasn’t until Alpha’s introduction that it finally clicked, and I enjoyed Dev Patel as Monkey Man way more.
