A magnificent balance of ridiculousness and social commentary always makes up for a great sci fi. I love how mickey is a loser.
That one scene with all the giant beetles crawling around went on too long I think.

It’s like if the Christopher Nolan Batman films were written to be played by Brad Pitt except you cant hear anything he’s saying without the subtitles. Not my kinda film but I appreciate the script and the narrative and certainly the mood of it all. Some scenes felt pointless and were just Morgan freeman throwing a knife at a dartboard? Wish there were more female characters other than the ones that got *erased*.

Suzume 2022
Suzume is stupid the whole movie but it’s gorgeous and funny and has an evil cat and the characters developments/stories are incredibly well told. The fact that the Ever After is shown throughout makes everything feel connected. I mean the actual sci fi is ridiculous but it makes for a great story.
