Wicked is a great example of how a good play, stage musical, or book doesn't necessarily make a great movie. I respect the idea behind staying as true to the source material as possible, but there are things that need to change when adapting to a different medium. In Wicked, this manifested as pacing issues and very awkward dialogue and character interactions.
