  While there might be the occasional time, where the comedy does abrupt emotional beats, this movie really is quite an accomplishment. The strange mix between it's Wes Anderson like comedy and quirkiness with some seriously emotional and gut-wrenching notes, would not work for most directors. However, Waititi makes it work so well! There is a reveal in the film that is done so well that I was completely speechless when it happened. If you've seen the film you'll know what I mean when I say blue butterfly. This also might be Scarlett Johansson at her best. Possibly even more so than Marriage Story.
