Unbearably smug and full of itself, watching Travolta's ego refuse to let his character ever be surprised or disadvantaged by anything that happens is the most irritating thing I've ever seen. A script that exudes Hollywood self-importance, produced as if it's an ego project despite it never actually feeling like he cares or wants to be there. It's incredible how he's not even convincing as an italian-american, let alone a mobster. Especially bizarre when acting directly opposite James Gandolfini, and even Danny Devito, both of which have basically nothing to do in the film. I still don't understand how anyone can sincerely like this.
