    What a very dystopian film.

Quite surreal, the combination of colours in production design, and the clashing of eras, because we are specifically never told the time period of the world, but the vibrant images, cool American muscle cars, and the story itself revolves around things you would see in your 80s, but just set in the present day--anachronistic in a sense.

So this film starts off very slow.

I feel like the acting could be one-dimensional at times, because at some points of the film, it feels like a mope-off. For the most parts though, acting is solid, and Gadis acted the best out of all of them.

This film is surely a lot for me, and maybe a bit overwhelming. Not sure how it goes in my head, as I haven't marinated.

The formalist hyper-surreal production design--though gorgeous--got me very nauseated and claustrophobic. Call me dull, but I am not really that comfortable with Samsung TV demo colours. That said, the decision to venture from black and white to colour, and the production design as a whole is crazy good. Everybody are dressed to the Edwardian nines,…
