such a distinct and unique film in the sakha horror genre. i’d describe it as a niche yakutian horror arthouse piece. it’s noticeable how much the director was influenced by japanese cinema. i really enjoyed the cinematography, the shots were surreal, eerie, and hypnagogic, creating a strong sense of immersion in Daiaana’s nightmares and hallucinations throughout the film. i also liked how the director combined typical sakha horror tropes with a psychedelic, dreamlike state, reminiscent of David Lynch’s style.
the director’s experiments with obscure storytelling make this film a prominent piece within the genre.
