i watched this with my father. it was nearly incomprehensible and a hell of a time. beautiful, fun, strange. would watch it again.

The City of Lost Children 1995
this is a really strange, surreal but almost familiarly comforting film centered around a relationship between - i see him as - an intellectually disabled man who feels genuine kinship with children (in a non-creepo way, for all my fellow Gen Zers), and a younger girl who befriends him and guides him on his journey to save the children of the city, including the man's brother. is this a weird film? yes. does it feel, sometimes, like you just ate a batch of bad weed? yes. should you watch it? yes.
