The Florida Project 2017
Such a lovely rewatch. I think this film is especially relevant now as we watch our country fall apart and avoid entire conservative States while forgetting all of the people just trying to get by. Baker humanizes the evil South and reminds us that many people do not fall under the category of good or bad but are complicated trying to survive in poverty. I will never wrap my head around how good the children’s acting is in this seriously a milestone for realism imo. Also I will defend the ending until I die

Just found out I love cats more than I hate 3D animation. Seriously tho this was really special. This crew understood that we don’t need to see mr incredible’s hair follicles, or maybe they just didn’t have the budget. Either way I hope we can all reflect and understand that advancements in animation doesn’t always need to involve technological advancements! These guys made a beautiful film without stupid talking animals, and in turn I felt so emotionally connected because they just acted like normal animals
