I Saw the TV Glow 2024
hope you guys don’t mind if i get a little deep and personal for a second. I Saw The Tv Glow does something to me that no other movie has. i feel both crushed and happy by the end of it, and it really opened my eyes in many different ways. over the past two years i’ve felt “stuck”. especially this last year, i’ve just felt like i’m not doing enough with my life. compared to other people my age,…

New Nightmare 1994
i’ve only ever seen this once before and i remember only thinking it was ok. idk wtf i was smoking because this movie is fucking awesome. it’s literally Wes showing off how smart and meta he can be, pre-Scream. the concept was never heard of at this point, a sequel that featured the actors playing themselves and filming a new entry of the franchise. the actual subject matter and horror of the film is brilliant as well.
this brings easily…

Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare 1991
dudes, there’s not much to say about this movie. i get almost no enjoyment out of Freddy’s Dead and i honestly don’t know how people can enjoy this thing. it’s so over the top but in a bad way that it’s almost unwatchable. the plot is a mess, the characters are boring and uninteresting, Freddy is too cranked up and his humor feels straight out of Looney Tunes and his makeup even sucks. there’s one good scene which is the…

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child 1989
i was most interested in revisiting this one because i’ve only seen it once before and i despised it. well i liked it a little more this time around, but this was still a major drop off for the franchise. you get the same formula again with a new group of characters, but this time they add a subplot about a cult that felt unnecessary and didn’t really make much sense.
they also add in the whole baby stuff which…

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master 1988
call me crazy, but i enjoy this more than Dream Warriors. they go back to their roots with this one. we’re back at a school, with a fun group of characters that Freddy is stalking in their sleep. some of the characters from Dream Warriors carry over, like Kincaid and Joey, and of course Kristen who was recasted from Patricia Arquette to Tuesday Knight. honestly Tuesday Knight was probably my least favorite thing about this movie.
not only does her…
