Their personal hell is someone else getting a compliment while they sit there, plotting ways to steal the spotlight? Yeah, that’s the kind of vibe “Sick of Myself” runs on—and boy, does it go off the rails in the best (and worst) way possible.

  This movie takes the concept of “crying for attention” and cranks it up to a level where you’re almost impressed…

  Throughout the movie I kept thinking about the description of sex work by Karl Marx. He says, "Prostitution is only a specific expression of the general prostitution of the labourer, and since it is a relationship in which falls not the prostitute alone, but also the one who prostitutes – and the latter's abomination is still greater".

  Everything fell into place when I learned that Pasolini (director) was a Marxist. The brutal assassination of the director now makes more sense.…
